The first step in Tesla’s plan to ramp up production of the Model S is to buy out all of the remaining coal fired power plants around the world.
That means Tesla will now produce its own coal, which is used to power the Model X and Model 3.
The company has already been working with coal companies to build a new coal-fired power plant in Turkey and has plans to open an even bigger one in India.
Tesla is currently building an “all-electric” factory in Tennessee, which will eventually make its way to the US.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in December that Tesla was looking to “reduce our carbon footprint” and that it would take 30 years to make the electric cars it sells.
