Posted September 25, 2018 04:11:50A wildfire burning near an Alberta coal-burning power plant has killed two workers and injured more than a dozen others, according to the Canadian Fire Service.
In a news release, the agency said one worker was injured and the second was “stable.”
The fire broke out Friday night in a remote area near an abandoned coal-mining camp, the CFS said.
A number of emergency vehicles were dispatched to the scene and the Canadian Armed Forces were also called in, the statement said.
It did not say how many people were injured or whether anyone was killed.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
No other details were immediately available.
